Oats for Breakfast

Ever since I went snowboarding in Wisconsin Saturday in 5 degree F. temps, I've been suffering with a cold and fever.  But today I feel on the mend.  Still weak but the worst is over.  Anyway, hot oatmeal seemed like a nutritious energizing option on this cold winter morning.   I just took what I had in the kitchen, some carrots, ginger, brown sugar, and steel-cut oats.  I also sliced some oranges on the side and added raisins, cardamom, and milk, to the hot oatmeal.   I have to admit, it really hit the spot!  I feel good now. :D

Hanging Art

What is the best way to hang your art? There are many articles and videos online regarding this subject.  But what I can tell you is that it always pays to get your art up and out of the box!  Even if its not perfect.  For example, if you purchase a painting like the one shown.  And hope to have it framed but want to hang it unframed until you are ready to frame, I think that's a great idea.  Maybe you will grow to like it without the frame!   Art is so fun because it adds life to a room.  It can brighten any corner.   So go ahead and get your new artwork up on that wall....

Lilacs in January

I am just getting around to some pictures I took last summer and spring that I have wanted to put to paper.  Here is speed painting of lilacs in blue vase.  The lilacs bloom in May and sometimes April in Chicago.  But in Idaho they don't bloom til end of May or June.  It's really high elevation and farther north.  That's why.
