Coral Roses

I found these coral colored roses and couldn't resist taking them home.  It's March 15 but the whole Eastern Seaboard is in a blizzard and we are below freezing with snow here in Chicago.  We need some color in the house!   And this English teapot makes the perfect-imperfect vessel. Look for possibly some coral rose paintings coming soon.

More Ranunculus Paintings

I am having so much fun painting these pretty pink ranunculus.  Beautiful, round, pink pillowy blossoms and twisty romantic stems that seem to be very hardy.   The watercolor pictures are perfect to capture the clean and pure colors. The oil paints are also good at capturing the nuances of color and the texture of the many petals.  Hope you enjoy!

White Iris and Spray Roses

Have you ever seen white iris before?  I have seen purple iris all my life.  But when I saw these white iris, I just had to have them.  They remind me of paper whites and other winter white florals.  As much as I love color this time of year, there is something very clean and refreshing about white flowers.   I also found these pale pink spray roses for $5!  What a bargain from Marianos in Westchester.  Okay.  I already painted them!  See below.  Kind of a funky abstract playful painting.   Hope you enjoy my new painting.
