Ever since I went snowboarding in Wisconsin Saturday in 5 degree F. temps, I've been suffering with a cold and fever. But today I feel on the mend. Still weak but the worst is over. Anyway, hot oatmeal seemed like a nutritious energizing option on this cold winter morning.
I just took what I had in the kitchen, some carrots, ginger, brown sugar, and steel-cut oats. I also sliced some oranges on the side and added raisins, cardamom, and milk, to the hot oatmeal.
I have to admit, it really hit the spot! I feel good now. :D
Found these old photos today from the ranch in Idaho. The original Moulton ranch was in Jackson Hole WY and these items came from there. This is an old trunk covered in a branded cow hide. Very cool, no?
Also I had photographed these old wood skis and snowshoes that were used on the ranch in Jackson, Wy.
I recently blogged about some baby birds that had fallen out of their nest during a rain and thunder storm. And they subsequently died. But the good news is, there is so much little life in my neighborhood and even back yard. This is my neighbors light and is seen from my back yard. The mother is eyeing me because she knows I am taking a picture.
She was so fat but is now thin and agile again. Her babies will chirp and she will come running.
