I made homemade macaroons because I always wanted to try making them. Also, I made them because I am painting a still life of them. I was going to make different colored and flavored ones. But I will start with just vanilla macaroons.
Strawberry tart I made in a sweet pastry dough crust with crabapple jelly glaze.
But now I will paint some paintings of them. I love the ruby red strawberries dripping with rosy glaze.
Planning to finish some still life paintings of sweets this week. Also working on a flock of birds and some botanical watercolors. Will post update soon. Have a great week!
We had a dinner with family at my parent's farm in Wisconsin. She ordered a Buche de Noel cake which came with candied cranberries on top.
It was delicious!

I also went to a German Christkindlmarket in Chicago.
One shaped like a tear drop hand painted in Austria with a wolf, some rabbits and birds. Another from Germany decorated with pearls.
I celebrated Easter today with family. My parents have a farm in Wisconsin. They had some new baby chicks, just a week old.
