I did something Wednesday that was totally fun and challenging!
I met a friend downtown for a drawing and sketching adventure. We found spots to draw. I brought my sketchbook and my friend, her iPad. It was a great experience. I hope to do it again soon!
When I arrived home, I used photos I had taken to add some color with watercolor paint. My particular sketchbook is designed to hold watercolor paints. It was a very fun process! I felt like a kid again while painting in my sketchbook.
While practicing my tendus at ballet class at Joffrey Ballet Studios, Chicago, one morning I noticed a beautiful scene.
Among the hustle and bustle on State Street, a family of sparrows was sharing a meal in a freshly leafed out elm tree.
I always love to visit the Art Institute of Chicago.
I've been anxiously awaiting the reopening of the Rennaissance and Armor exhibit. The new exhibit is in a beautiful space complete with cathedral ceilings and gothic arches
I overheard a tour guide speaking to a group of young people about how gritty and industrial the city is and that the Art Institute provides a place for beautiful art and collections as almost a refuge from the grittiness of the city.
It really does feel like a refuge.
