I visited the Art Institute of Chicago over the weekend to get some inspiration. It was a cold and blustery day. Perfect day to warm up inside the art museum.
If you have time, here is a two minute video slide show:
I am having so much fun painting these pretty pink ranunculus. Beautiful, round, pink pillowy blossoms and twisty romantic stems that seem to be very hardy.
The watercolor pictures are perfect to capture the clean and pure colors.
The oil paints are also good at capturing the nuances of color and the texture of the many petals. Hope you enjoy!
I was playing with my camera in the studio tonite. I recorded a little video for my youtube channel. Then I decided to try the timer since I haven't used that before. Need to work on my focusing skills. But I had fun.
Okay. See you later...
Our library here in Elmhurst, IL has a 3D printer, among many other cool things like large format printers, knitting machines, silhouette die cutters, video and sound equipment, and much more available to residents. So I have been working with my daughter on some projects. This is my daughter's first project, a model of a makeup case. The material is a corn bioplastic and we used the suggested beginner's program Tinkercad to design. Then just send the file to the library for printing. Easy as can be. Quite fun also. I hope to share more projects with you in the future!
