News — floral RSS

The garden flowers are attracting many things including butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. They are inspiring my paintings right now.   Soba buckwheat blossoms.

Honeysuckle is blossoming now.  Inspiring me to paint in these lovely warm and soft pinks.

I was looking for Western Tanager birds and saw that a bunch of chokecherry trees were in bloom. A grove of chokecherry trees. Aspen grove.  Do you see the bear marks? Currant flowers. Syringa blossoms on in the foothills. Wild berries.  

Springtime Mountain Snowfall.  It's a good thing lilacs like cold weather. More snow-covered lilacs. Plum blossoms got a dusting of snow too.

Right now there are a lot of violets, ground ivy, and lily of the valley on the ground in my yard in Elmhurst. I am really enjoying the fleeting moments in the garden with the perennial wildflowers. I also have colorful pansies in pots around the house. And a few carnations and fun things. Love this pink!
