Thoughts About September
With summer officially over here in the Northern Hemisphere, I take a moment to pause and reflect. Every year, it seems summer goes quicker and the leaves are already turning. The crunch of fallen leaves, the blue of the dry sky, and the cooler nights, are refreshing after the heat and long light of summer. There seems to me comfort in the routines and orderliness of autumn. I really enjoy the organization and hum of the day. With change in the air, and the cooler, shorter days, I start to reflect inward. I focus more on my home, on my food, on my surroundings and friends and family. I feel excited about my art and creativity this time...
Curious Chickens
Sunday I was visiting my parents' farm in Wisconsin. I also happened to pick some vegetables to take home while there. When my mother let the chickens out, they headed straight toward the veggies and a few even took some pecks out of the tomatoes.
According to my mother, the chickens LOVE tomatoes.
