I have been wanting to try this cake recipe for some time now as well as try a mini bundt pan I was given. I decided to put the two to the test.
I was super curious about the amount of poppyseed the cake recipe called for. And also, they are soaked in milk until they swell.
The cakes themselves turned out fine. I used the sour cream option as buttermilk was the other option. I thought the cream would make a stiffer batter for the little molds. If you are interested, the cookbook I baked these from is Deborah Madison's The New Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone
I recently blogged about some baby birds that had fallen out of their nest during a rain and thunder storm. And they subsequently died. But the good news is, there is so much little life in my neighborhood and even back yard. This is my neighbors light and is seen from my back yard. The mother is eyeing me because she knows I am taking a picture.
She was so fat but is now thin and agile again. Her babies will chirp and she will come running.
Dusty is a paint horse who is very happy to see me. He and his friend Tuffy (across in a different pasture so he can be caught) are both paint horses and have the lovely two toned coloring.
Every day Dusty comes and says hi. I didn't get a chance to ride him this week but hope to soon.
