Do you see the turtles sunning themselves?
Yesterday my friend and I were doing some plain air painting and drawing. I mostly did sketching. It was the perfect day with not a cloud in the sky. Plenty of birds and flowers blooming. The trees finally leafing out. Woodland plants unfurling their petals.
While nothing beats a high-quality camera, I often capture wonderful images I can turn into art on my iPhone. I currently have the iPhone 7Plus which has the upgraded camera. I used it for this shot taken in "portrait" mode, which blurs out the background to create the depth field. But more importantly, I use it in moments when I don't have my camera around and it's just convenient. I probably wouldn't have got the picture any other way. It's really in these fleeting moments that make for great art. Even this still life photo I took is from a now deceased friend's home. She was old. She is now gone. I will be painting it in both watercolor...
My daughter, Audrey, is a talented photographer. She recently took these photos of me. I love the greek-goddess halter style flowing gown she let me borrow. Necklace is my own.
You can't tell. But we were getting eaten alive by mosquitos. I think they really cut short our photography session. But we got some nice shots anyway.
