I saw a sandhill crane flying today.  One can tell it's a sandhill crane because it flies with its feet straight out behind.

I found an abandoned hummingbird nest in the yard below the pine tree.

On the ranch, there are both golden eagles and bald eagles.   The golden eagle is the bigger of the two with a 7 foot wing span. Bald eagle hanging out in a tree near the calving barn. Golden eagle perched in a tree.  They lay nests in the high cliff rocks in the canyon above the ranch.

Currently working on bird and floral watercolor paintings and some North American birds like this red tailed hawk. I did something different by adding some painted details to the side of the panel. The painting is available here:
