Today I have been harvesting lilacs. I made a simple lilac syrup and sugared lilacs today.  I plan to try pressing them between paper to dry them.

Starting to feel like autumn. Look and taste like autumn too.  Mushroom and goat cheese pizza with truffle oil and thyme.

Although I had no intention to, my garden attracts hummingbirds, birds, butterflies, and bees. Hummingbird and alfalfa Hummingbirds love these bright colored zinnias. Start of a new painting inspired by the hummingbirds.

The garden flowers are attracting many things including butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. They are inspiring my paintings right now.   Soba buckwheat blossoms.

I was looking for Western Tanager birds and saw that a bunch of chokecherry trees were in bloom. A grove of chokecherry trees. Aspen grove.  Do you see the bear marks? Currant flowers. Syringa blossoms on in the foothills. Wild berries.
